New South Wales With Kids
A Sydney family holiday and the full Brisbane to Sydney coastal drive, tested with our daughter, stop by stop.
A GROWING HUB
Why New South Wales holidays work for families
New South Wales holidays with us stretch furthest from home, three days exploring Sydney itself, plus the full coastal drive down from Brisbane with an overnight stop in Port Macquarie along the way. It’s a bigger trip than our usual South East Queensland guides, so we’ve broken it into a proper Sydney itinerary and a separate road trip guide for the drive itself.

Where to start with kids in NSW
Two guides so far: three days in Sydney itself, and the full coastal drive to get there from Brisbane.

What to do in Sydney for 3 days with a young child comes down to picking a handful of things and doing them well. Taronga Zoo, Haymarket and the Opera House, without our 4-year-old ever feeling dragged from place to place.

A Brisbane to Sydney drive with kids sounds daunting, but broken into short daily drives with real stops, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie whale watching, Sydney and Taronga Zoo, it’s one of the best trips we’ve done.
