OUR STORY
We didn’t wait for the 'perfect time' to travel with kids. We just started.
We used to be the ones staring at travel brochures, wondering how people actually “did it.” The logistics seemed like a mountain too high to climb—the gear, the naps, the picky eaters, and the budget.
Then came our first big trip. It wasn’t perfect. There was a lost teddy bear in Terminal 3 and a few minor meltdowns, but there was also the look on our kids’ faces when they saw the ocean for the first time.
Really Traveling was born from that realization: The logistics shouldn’t stop the memories. We started this site to document the messy, beautiful reality of family exploration and to give you the exact blueprints we use to make it happen.
⚠️ Reality: The Case of the Missing Pull-Up
We’re all about logistics, but sometimes… life happens. On our last night at an Airbnb, we forgot the golden rule of toilet-training a toddler during travel: Always wear the pull-up to bed. We woke up on departure day to a very wet bed and a 7:00 AM departure time looming.
We spent our final hours frantically running the washing machine and writing an apology message to our host! At least it didn’t get through to the electric blanket!
The Lesson: We survived, the Airbnb hosts were legends, and the blanket was spared. Pro tip: Pack a disposable bed protector or never skip the night-time nappy, no matter how well toilet training is going!
Jomana | The Mastermind
The brains behind the “how.” Jomana is a wizard at finding flight connections and those “how-did-she-find-this?” hidden gems. Googling to find new locations and planning trips is her ‘happy place’, ensuring the foundation of every family adventure is rock-solid.
Murray | The Fixer
While Jomana builds the map, I’m the one navigating the terrain. I handle the day-to-day execution—getting us from A to B, managing the heavy bags, and making sure the plan actually happens. I’m the resident optimist who, according to Kailani, “loves everything”.
Kailani | The Vibe Checker
Our primary consultant on playgrounds, snacks, and “are we there yet?”. Kailani keeps us grounded and reminds us that while the destination is great, the ice cream shop around the corner is just as important. She is the heart of our “why”.
"Dad, why do you love EVERYTHING?"
