The Most Dangerous Travel Destinations | From Peru to Mexico

How to Create the Safest Vacation for Your Family by Avoiding the Most Dangerous Travel Destinations

Some of the most dangerous travel destinations are places that many people go to on a regular basis.

For most people, when they go on vacation, they are wanting a break from everything that is going on in their lives. They want to be relieved from the stress in their lives from the bills to going to work every day.

Every year, many people spend a lot of money on their plane tickets, hotel rooms, pet sitters (if they have pets), child care providers (if their kids are not going with them), the food on their vacation, and for any fun trips and/or sightseeing trips that they go on.

Since they are going on vacation to get away from it all, these people do not want to go to a place where their safety may be at risk and that is a very dangerous place to visit. For this reason, these types of people will want to avoid these places that are not safe to visit.

For others though, they love the adrenaline rush, and they want to find those exciting places that have an added sense of risk. For these people, some of these places may be just what they are looking for.

The only real safe place in Peru is Machu Picchu. It is Peru's most popular tourist attraction and it is thought of as the only safe place in this country. The main reason that it is safe is because of the amount of the money it brings in on a yearly basis.

The rest of the country, especially the travel routes and rural areas, has terrorist groups and drug cartels in them. Therefore, most of Peru is not a safe place for tourists to travel to.

Bangkok, Thailand

Thailand as a whole is known to be a volatile place these days. Along with political unrest, there is also organized crime. Organized crime criminals and petty criminals are looking to attack and/or people that are there on vacation.

They may not get killed, but in a short matter of time, they can be a broke and penniless tourist, wondering how it all happened. Criminals often steal their money and passports. The police in Bangkok also do not care about the welfare of people that have traveled to visit there.

Acapulco, Mexico

This once very prosperous city in Mexico now has a bad reputation as a place where people that live there and visitors alike are under a constant threat. The drug trade wants to sell their products to tourist and the crime rate in the city affects them.

However, if it was really that bad no one would ever visit there. People still visit there, travel through the city, and leave the city with happy memories. Being on alert and using common sense is a good idea no matter where people travel.

Other Unsafe Locations

Other places that are not safe to travel in this world are Israel (bomb attacks and terrorist activity), Bogota, Colombia (drug trafficking and kidnapping), Mumbai, some places in India (pickpockets, sex crimes, burglaries, and scammers), and Haiti and the Dominican Republic (credit card fraud, bank machine tampering, kidnapping, thievery, mugging, assaults, robbery, and sex crimes).

Kingston, Jamaica is another one of the most dangerous travel destinations as it has drug activity and assault and robbery against tourists and Cape Town, South Africa have muggings, carjackings, and murders. Cape Town does have some safe areas, so travelers need to be on alert for the places that they visit in this city.

Hopefully, this has helped tourists learn about unsafe areas throughout the world. Their vacation needs to be a fun and relaxing way to escape from the chaos of their world and not to enter a chaos-filled world full of danger and crime.
